Hello, and thank you for joining this special event to benefit Operation Motorsport!

PCA Sim Racing is excited to announce that Lone Star Region PCA will be the host for the event. PCA Sim Racing will assist LSR to ensure we have a memorable, positive, and fun race on Sunday, August 9th, 2026. Practice will start at 6 PM Eastern / 3 PM Pacific followed by a 15 minute, 3 lap, lone qualifying session. Then a 5 minute warmup before the start of the race at 6:30 PM Eastern / 3:30 PM Pacific.

================================

A team member can join an iRacing team racing session after qualifying has closed, provided they were declared as a driver during the initial registration period.

Registration Deadline: The team administrator must declare the driver as part of the team roster before the race session starts. Once the session begins, no new drivers can be added to the registration.

Joining In-Progress: If declared in advance, the driver can join the session at any point during the race (including after qualifying) via the Teams section in the UI, selecting the team, and clicking Join under the active session.

Minimum Laps: Declared drivers are subject to minimum lap requirements to maintain fair share rules; failure to complete them results in disqualification.

Session Limits: At most six members of a team may be connected to a session simultaneously, though more can rotate in and out over the course of the event.

Why do we need a special car decal layer on every team car?

Easy answer. The broadcast. We expect a sizable viewing audience for the 70 for 70, and anticipate an even larger one after September 13th. It's important that the audience recognizes our event and our Title Sponsor for 2025, Princess Cruises.

Every team that competes will have the car decal template loaded onto the broadcast server, and Trading Paints will be active.

What you see from your computer will be different than what is on the broadcast unless 1) you download and install the final team update pack which will be released a few days before the event, and 2) you have trading paints (https://tradingpaints.com) active. The free account allows uploads.

================================

What can I do to help with this work?

If you have custom livery already, look at your uploaded livery and see if there is any overlap with the decals, then adjust your livery file.

================================

I have no clue how to do custom livery....

No problem. First, read here: https://support.iracing.com/support/solutions/articles/31000133480-how-do-i-custom-paint-my-iracing-cars-

If you create the livery, add the car_decal_team_xxxxxx.tga or psd layered file as one of your layers.

Important Notes!

There is NO WAY to collect a custom livery created from within iRacing. If you try to run the livery that is built inside the iRacing paint folder, you will see your design but everyone viewing the broadcast will see one of the iRacing default designs. Hopefully, iRacing will rectify this.

You CAN select one of the Trading Paint files from their user library, upload it to your free account on Trading Paints, and run it on your computer with your account number (for example car_123456.tga). Then, when you run Trading Paints Updater for the event, it will pick up your car livery.

Default path to install livery and car decal

If the folder doesn't exist, go drive the car for a few minutes, and iRacing will create a folder for it.

GT3
C:\Users\YOUR PROFILE\Documents\iRacing\paint\porsche992cup\car_decal_team_000001*.tga

GT4
C:\Users\YOUR PROFILE\Documents\iRacing\paint\porsche718gt4\car_decal_team_000002*.tga

* = THIS IS YOUR TEAM NUMBER. NOT YOUR INDIVIDUAL IRACING NUMBER.

================================

Special note on the name and numbers on the GT3 Cup template.  If you are repainting your car, use the template with the red blocked area (the alpha channel). That maintains the transparent glass. Otherwise, it will look blocked out as seen in image "GT3_Cup_glass.png
